  The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton Lumberjacks picked up a huge road win on Saturday night as the Lumberjacks defeated the Stillwater Ponies by a score of 4-2 in Stillwater. The Lumberjacks, who were coming off two consecutive losses to the two top ranked teams in the state, rebound with the two goal win as the Lumberjacks end their regular season on a winning note.

  New rules of enforcing boarding penalties came into play in the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys hockey win over Denfeld on Thursday night. With the game tied at 1-1 midway through the third period, the Hunters were called for a boarding penalty and the Lumberjacks scored twice during the five-minute major as CEC went on for a 4-2 win.

  St. Thomas Academy overcame a slow start and managed to eke out a 5-4 overtime victory over the Hermantown Hawks in the Minnesota State High School Class A Hockey Tournament championship game on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks came out flying, but couldn't hang on to a three goal lead as the Cadets rallied for the victory.
