  Hermantown Junior Megan Danelski captured the state girls Alpine championship on Wednesday at Giants Ridge in Biwabik. Danelski, who had placed third in last year’s Event, had combined runs of 36:72 and 38:71 to finish in first place in the girls state alpine ski meet.

  The Lake Superior Conference has announced their All-Conference Alpine Ski teams over the weekend and the boys and girls sides are both dominated by Proctor-Hermantown.

  The Hermantown girls alpine team took sixth place in the state meet Wednesday at Giants Ridge. Finishing with 109 points, the Hawks completed another great season and the first for an entire team to compete at the state level.

  Hermantown had three skiers in the top five, including champion Megan Danelski, as the girls alpine team won the second annual Bud Fontana Hibbing High School Alpine Ski Invitational Thursday at Giants Ridge.

  Hermantown/Proctor led the way with three 1st Team All-Conference selections for the Lake Superior Conference Alpine Ski-Team. Matthew Borash, Brendon Viaene and Hans Eggert were the trio of skiers that lead this year’s team.

  Despite a lack of snow local high school Nordic ski teams have found a way to get out and compete, and as a result, the Lake Superior Conference has named their 2011-2012 All-Conference boys and girls Nordic teams with 10 skiers on each squad.

  The Lake Superior Conference has announced its all-conference selections for the Alpine ski season for 2010-2011. Both the boys and girls first and second teams are represented well by the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton ski team as well as the Hermantown-Proctor ski team.
